Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15.09.2026
BeMore.kiwi (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a New Zealand business operated as a sole trader, based in Christchurch, New Zealand.
We respect your privacy and handle your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 and its thirteen Information Privacy Principles.
This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what rights you have over it. It applies to the website bemore.kiwi, to orders placed through our online store, and to sales we make in person at races and events.
1. What we collect
When you place an order
- Your name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Delivery address and billing address
- The items you ordered and any personalisation details you supply, such as a name, a race time, or a GPS route file
- A record of your payment, including the amount, date, and the last four digits and card type. We never see or store your full card number.
When you start checkout but do not finish
If you enter your email address at checkout and then leave without completing your order, we store that email address along with the contents of your cart. We use it to send you a reminder that your order is unfinished. You can opt out of these reminders using the unsubscribe link in any such email, and we will delete the record on request.
When you contact us
Your name, email address, and whatever you choose to include in your message.
When you browse the site
- IP address, browser type, device type, and operating system
- Pages you viewed, how long you stayed, and the site or search engine that referred you
- Cookie data, as described in section 6
When you buy from us in person
At race-day stalls and events we process your order through the same systems described above. We collect your name and contact details only where the order requires it, such as a personalised item to be posted to you.
Personalisation files
Some of our products are made from information you supply, such as a route file, a course name, a finish time, or an image. We treat these as your personal information. We keep them only as long as needed to make and deliver your item and to handle any reprint or warranty request, and we do not use them for any other purpose without asking you first.
2. Why we collect it
We collect personal information so that we can:
- Take, make, and deliver your order
- Contact you about your order, including delays, questions about personalisation, and delivery updates
- Process payments and issue refunds
- Handle returns, faults, and warranty claims
- Meet our record-keeping obligations under New Zealand tax law
- Send you marketing emails, but only if you have asked to receive them
- Understand how people use our website so we can improve it
We will not use your information for a purpose you would not reasonably expect, and we will not sell it to anyone.
3. Whether you have to provide it
You do not have to give us your personal information. But if you do not provide the details needed to fulfil an order, such as a delivery address, we will not be able to complete that order.
4. Who we share it with
We share personal information only with the service providers we need to run the business, and only to the extent they need it:
- Payment processing: Stripe, PayPal]. Your card details go directly to them and are not stored on our website.
- Delivery: NZ Post, CourierPost who receive your name, delivery address, and phone number so they can deliver your parcel.
- Website hosting: Which stores our website and its database.
- Email delivery: the provider that sends our order confirmations and any newsletters.
- Website analytics: Google Analytics
We may also disclose information where we are required to by law.
Some of these providers are based overseas, or store data on servers outside New Zealand. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure the information is protected by comparable safeguards to those required under New Zealand law, as required by Information Privacy Principle 12.
5. How long we keep it
- Order and payment records: seven years, as required for tax and business records under New Zealand law.
- Abandoned cart records: [30 to 90] days, then deleted.
- Contact form enquiries: up to two years.
- Marketing subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.
- Personalisation files: [12] months after delivery, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
When information is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected for, and we have no legal reason to keep it, we delete it.
6. Cookies
Our website uses cookies, which are small files stored on your device.
- Necessary cookies keep your shopping cart working and let you log in. The site cannot function without these.
- Analytics cookies tell us how many people visit and which pages they use. The data is aggregated.
- Marketing cookies, if we use them, may be set by [e.g. Google, Meta] to measure advertising.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies will stop the shopping cart from working.
7. How we protect it
We use HTTPS encryption across the site, keep our website software and plugins updated, limit administrator access, and use strong authentication on our accounts. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse, and unauthorised access.
If we ever suffer a privacy breach that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner, as required by the Privacy Act 2020.
8. Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to:
- Ask what we hold about you and receive a copy
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong or out of date
- Ask us to delete information we no longer need
- Withdraw consent to marketing at any time
To make any of these requests, email us at 3d@bemore.kiwi. We will respond within 20 working days. There is no charge for a standard request.
9. Marketing
We only send marketing emails to people who have asked for them. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and we will action unsubscribes promptly. Order confirmations, shipping notices, and replies to your enquiries are not marketing and will still be sent.
10. Children
Our store is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Third-party links
Our site and our social media posts may link to other websites, such as race organisers or model-sharing platforms. We are not responsible for their privacy practices and encourage you to read their policies.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with the last updated date at the top. If we make a significant change to how we use your information, we will make that clear on the website.
